Your goal is to minimize the total value of the cards in your hand.
Value is measured like so:
Card | 1...10 | Jack | Queen | King | Red King | Ace | Joker |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Value | 1...10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | -2 | 1 | 0 |
Place four cards in front of each player, face down, in a 2x2 grid. This will be your hand.
Players can view the two cards closest to them. Memorize these cards, then place them back down.
Place the rest of the cards in a face down deck in the center of the table.
Pick any player to begin the game.
On each turn, in clockwise order, the player will pick the top card from the deck, view it, and
either play it or swap it with a card in their hand.
The played or swapped card will be placed face up in the center discard pile.
If a card is played at any time, and any player knows of the same card face down on the table, the
player can slap that card.
If a player slaps their own card and they are correct, they can discard the card from their
hand.
If a player slaps an opponent's card and they are correct, the opponent keeps the slapped card, as
well as a new face down penalty card.
If a player slaps incorrectly, they are given a face down penalty card.
Playing some cards triggers a special ability.
Card | Ability |
---|---|
7 / 8 | Peek Look at one of your own cards. |
9 / 10 | Spy Look at one of your opponent's cards. |
J / Q | Blind Swap Swap one card from your hand with one in your opponent's hand, without looking at the cards. |
Black K | Look and Swap Look at any opponent's card, then swap one card from your hand with any opponent's card, even one you did not look at. |
When a player thinks they have the lowest value hand, they can yell "Kaboo!" at the start of their
turn.
This ends their turn. The rest of the players continue playing for one round, but cannot touch the
Kaboo-ing player's hand.
